Description

5 Part Pops for Brass is part of a new collection of Pop inspired arrangements for Brass Quintet arranged by Chris Wilcox.

We hope this repertoire will prompt a growing inquisitiveness for young brass players, and was created with a brass club or gathering in mind.

All transposed parts are included.

The song was written by Survivor guitarist Frankie Sullivan and keyboard player Jim Peterik and was recorded at the request of Rocky III star, writer, and director Sylvester Stallone. The film version of the song also contained tiger growls, which did not appear on the album version. It features original Survivor singer Dave Bickler on lead vocals. It gained tremendous MTV and radio airplay and topped charts worldwide during 1982. In the USA, it held the No. 1 position in the Billboard Hot 100 chart for six consecutive weeks. It went platinum in August 1982, signifying sales of 2 million vinyl copies. The song has sold over 4 million in digital downloads alone in the USA. Survivor is an American rock band, formed in Chicago in 1978 by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan. The band achieved success in the 1980s, producing many charting singles. As well as Eye of the Tiger, the band continued to chart in the mid-1980s with singles like Burning Heart, The Search Is Over, Is This Love and I Can't Hold Back.
