Good Times Again seeks to celebrate the traditional jazz sound of New Orleans, USA, the birthplace of jazz. It’s no surprise that one of the nicknames for New Orleans is The Big Easy. This contented, happy-go-lucky attitude is present in so much of the jazz music that originated in this city and indeed is reflected in Good Times Again.
PARP ! - a collection of thirty original compositions.
Set at a Junior Band level, PARP ! follows a flexi scoring formula of mixed brass players; requiring a minimum of 4 brass players - but the maximum number is endless.
The pieces are predominantly groove based and seek to take participants through a wide range of styles and musical identities.
In the instance of using just four brass players, playing just the top part in each case will provide a cohesive performance.
