Paul Peuerl (1570 - 1625) was a German-Austrian composer, organist and organ builder. From November 1601, Peuerl was organist in Horn and then later in 1609 in Steyr , where he also worked as an organ builder. He built organs in Steyr, Horn, Enns and in Wilhering Abbey, among other places. Peuerl published the first non-Italian trio sonatas (1625), which required two melodic voices accompanied by a basso continuo. His achievements are considered significant and groundbreaking for his time.
