PARP ! - a collection of thirty original compositions.
Set at a Junior Band level, PARP ! follows a flexi scoring formula of mixed brass players; requiring a minimum of 4 brass players - but the maximum number is endless.
The pieces are predominantly groove based and seek to take participants through a wide range of styles and musical identities.
In the instance of using just four brass players, playing just the top part in each case will provide a cohesive performance.
Klezmania - This is another of my pieces that seeks to emulate the infectious style of Klezmer music.
The melody, harmony and rhythmic impetus are all characteristic ingredients of this musical style. J.M.
