From How to Train your Dragon
Romantic Flight (also called Astrid's theme) is a piece of music composed by John Powell. It was featured in the first How to Train Your Dragon film and is most notable during Hiccup and Astrid's first flight scene. This theme was specifically made for Astrid's character and reprises during most of her emotional and heartfelt scenes on both the show and in the movies. The soundtrack album for the film was released in March 2010. The score earned Powell his first Academy Award nomination and his third BAFTA nomination. The score also won the International Film Music Critics Association (2011) Award for Best Original Score for an Animated Feature and Film Score of the Year and was nominated twice for Film Music Composition of the Year. The soundtrack received wide acclaim from professional music critics and has strong traditional Scottish influences, using instruments such as the fiddle, bagpipes, uilleann pipes, Great Irish Warpipes and the penny-whistle.
