Description

PARP ! - a collection of thirty original compositions.

Set at a Junior Band level, PARP ! follows a flexi scoring formula of mixed brass players; requiring a minimum of 4 brass players - but the maximum number is endless.

The pieces are predominantly groove based and seek to take participants through a wide range of styles and musical identities.

In the instance of using just four brass players, playing just the top part in each case will provide a cohesive performance.

The Big - Easy - The Big Easy is one of several nicknames for the city of New Orleans, USA.

Historically this city was the birthplace of jazz.

Whilst born out of slavery and racial oppression, early New Orleans jazz had an ironic and distinct easy, carefree attitude which reflected the popular name of the city.

“Every now and again a recording that is both truly outstanding and will have great appeal to brass band listeners appears on the shelves. We are delighted to make it the first recipient of our CD of the Year Editors Award.”

Kenneth Crookston
British Bandsman
