If Status Quo were a brass band rather than a rock band I’d like to think that this would be their signature tune. Like many of their great tunes it is written as a bluesy style melody plus harmony against a characteristic rock shuffle beat.

Description

PARP ! - a collection of thirty original compositions.

Set at a Junior Band level, PARP ! follows a flexi scoring formula of mixed brass players; requiring a minimum of 4 brass players - but the maximum number is endless.

The pieces are predominantly groove based and seek to take participants through a wide range of styles and musical identities.

In the instance of using just four brass players, playing just the top part in each case will provide a cohesive performance.

Lyndon Chapman
“Simply some of the most exciting and triumphant brass playing I have ever heard!”

“This is joyous stuff; an intelligent, coherent crossover disc, performed with phenomenal punch. Brilliantly recorded too – what’s the point of assembling a collective of virtuoso brass players if they can’t make your ears bleed ?”
